Why Sponsor

Sponsor linux.conf.au 2012

linux.conf.au (aka LCA) is one of the world's best free and open source software developer community conferences. A purely volunteer effort, it is hosted in a different Australasian city each year, and attracts some of the best minds in the world of Free and Open Source Software.

Regarded as one of the world's best free and open source software (FOSS) conferences, linux.conf.au 2012 (LCA2012), will, for the first time in its history, be held in Australia, but outside a capital city. This will be a chance for delegates to see a very different Australia to that of our capital cities, and presents a number of opportunities for sponsors who wish to help make this happen.

January 16th will see 600 delegates, over half of which register and identify themselves as Professional Delegates, converge on the regional centre of Ballarat, Victoria. Such a high proportion of Professional delegates, many of whom will be coming from outside of Australia, provides Sponsors with strong opportunities to promote their brands to a large number of influential business professionals. This is a truly international conference, and we are expecting approximately one third of the delegates to be coming from outside of Australia for the event.

Ballarat is located about an hour West of Melbourne and is fast becoming known as an example of how successful regional IT can be. The University of Ballarat, hosting venue fr LCA2012, is situated next door to the Ballarat Technology Park and has close ties with many of the businesses operating there.
